Belotero® Injectable Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is present in our skin and joints. Levels of HA deplete as we age causing volume loss and skin laxity. The lost volume can be replaced with HA filler. It is not permanent and will be broken down by the body in time.

Depending on the type of Belotero ® HA filler used and its placement it can last up to 18 months. It can be used for the following:

  • Facial rejuvenation
  • Combating facial changes and loss of volume
  • Smoothing lines and wrinkles
  • Facial contouring
  • Lip enhancement and augmentation

Fillers can be placed either through a needle or a cannula. A cannula is blunt and slightly flexible unlike a needle and is inserted through a tiny needle prick in the skin to place filler in smooth lines under the skin. This method minimises trauma and bruising to the surface of the skin and is perfect for procedures such as facial contouring. I use TSK 25g Steriglide ® cannulas for your increased comfort and safety.

A topical local anaesthetic is used prior to treatment to aid patient comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the treatment hurt?

A topical numbing cream is used to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Treatment techniques and consumables are chosen to give the optimum results with minimum discomfort. The filler also contains Lidocaine (a local numbing agent) to further increase comfort during treatment.

Will I see the results straight away?

Yes, the results will be visible immediately, but the best and final results will be seen around 2 weeks after treatment when the filler has settled, giving a beautiful and natural result.

How long will the results last?

The results can last between 6-18 months depending on the type of filler used and where it is placed. Softer fillers are needed to achieve the best aesthetic result in certain areas of the face and thicker fillers can be used in others. This is all explained during a consultation.

What is the aftercare?

You will be advised not to exercise for the rest of the day, avoid extreme heat (such as saunas, sunbeds), keep the skin clean and dry, do not apply makeup and avoid rubbing or touching the area. Full aftercare advice will be given at your appointment and an aftercare card is provided for your reference.

Who can have this treatment?

A full Consultation is given prior to treatment to ensure you are suitable. Being unwell, suffering from certain health conditions or taking some medications may prevent you from being able to receive this treatment. This will all be discussed during your Consultation.

NB. You cannot have this treatment if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
